Destination highlights
The upcoming season will see 17 new ports added to the programme including Alghero/Sardinia and Sao Vicente/Cape Verde. Guests on board the EUROPA 2 can look forward to varied routes featuring a mixture of small coastal towns and tourist highlights. In summer, the luxury ship will sail from Hamburg to Iceland and Norway before returning 19 days later to the Hanseatic city – Germany’s second-largest city. An 78-day combination cruise straight through Oceania from late January to early April 2019 promises plenty of time to recover from the winter cold. Guests can spend Christmas and New Year on a cruise through Asia.
Popular travel-format cruises are back
Special moments will feature heavily on the itinerary alongside extraordinary destinations. The travel-format cruises on the EUROPA 2 will focus on themes that reflect the interests of their target groups, such as fashion, art, sport and music. Guests will have multifaceted formats to choose from in the new season.
Fashion enthusiasts should not miss out on a short cruise opportunity in summer 2018: following the successful premiere in 2016, the EUROPA 2 will once again transform into a fashion hotspot as it hosts the glamorous event evening FASHION2NIGHT on 17 August 2018 as part of the prelude to a three-day cruise. The Pool Deck will become the catwalk for an exclusive show featuring a number of prominent guests who will be on board for the evening. The travel-format cruise IN2BALANCE focuses on relaxation techniques from the Far East and innovative training methods. Guests can take part in this format and learn from the experts on seven cruises in the upcoming season. art2sea is dedicated to art: renowned art experts will inspire guests and provide insights into their specialist field. Fitness enthusiasts have the opportunity to take part in the fitness programme BE.YOU. developed especially for the luxury ship by three-time Olympic ski champion Maria Höfl-Riesch. Featured on four cruises, Maria Höfl-Riesch – the Director of Sports & Fitness on MS EUROPA 2 since 2017 – will be on board to train alongside guests. The new format MS EUROPA 2 UNPLUGGED gives guests on four cruises the opportunity to enjoy concerts by contemporary stars in an almost private setting.
Free Internet on board – a first for 2018
The next scheduled docking period for the luxury ship is in September 2017. During this time, EUROPA 2 will be fitted with a number of improvements. The increased capacity of the ship’s satellite systems will provide more bandwidth for Internet usage. As a result, from 2018 all passengers will receive one hour of free Internet use per day. Certain areas of the ship will also be redesigned during the docking period: guests will meet in the Collins instead of the Herrenzimmer and the Jazz Club will be renamed Club 2.
